Research visit to Monash University

In February 2026, MOTRAN project members Dr. Markus Kaczvinszki and Ivan Zaboev visited Prof. Ha Bui’s research group at Monash University, Australia. Prof. Bui’s group has extensive expertise in computational geomechanics, constitutive modelling, and mesh-free particle methods, particularly Smoothed Particle Hydrodynamics (SPH).

During the visit, research results on granular flows were presented and discussed. Particular attention was given to slip-velocity profiles in chute flows, DEM and mesh-free methods, theoretical approaches, and constitutive modelling of granular materials. The visit provided an opportunity to exchange ideas, establish new research connections, and discuss possible future collaborations.
